Hi, my name is Richard Farr and I work remotely as a freelance data scientist. I have a Masters degree in Economics from The Florida State University and a Graduate Certificate in Data Science and Business Analytics from The University of Texas at Austin.
Since I was young, I've always enjoyed solving puzzles and tinkering with computer code. So that’s how I look at the big data sets generated by businesses today. I see the area of business data science as just another puzzle with patterns in data to exploit (using code), in order to generate profit.
I've been working at the intersection of business and data for over 20 years and I have experience with high frequency trading, managing large advertising budgets, conversion rate optimization, and marketing analytics.
I'm originally from England but moved to the US at 13 so you'll hear remnants of an English accent. Don't ask if I'm Australian - that's a completely different accent :-)
